My name is Tomas Kliment. I was born in 1984 in a small city of Slovakia called Roznava. After my basic education at primary and secondary school in my place of origin, I moved to Bratislava a capital city of Slovakia for University studies. I finished my master study in 2007 at the Slovak University of Technology in the study branch Geodesy and Cartography, program Geoinformatics. At the same year, I applied for PhD study. My thesis is related to harmonized approach of discovery, evaluation and use of geospatial data. Very important step of my PhD study was traineeship stage at the Joint Research Centre of European Commission in Ispra, Italy. I spent one beautiful year there and gained lot of professional and personal experiences. Since the beginning of this year, I've been working in Italian National Research Council as a junior researcher. My work is related basically to the geospatial data description by metadata in order to enhance the quality and quantity of possible data exchange using modern web technologies as well as international standards and specification from geo domain.
Curently am working on the project EnvEurope (see link below). Practically, the working group of Action1 within this project deals with an establishment of common metadata and data models for long term ecological research domain.
